Take Five!
Cleveland Indian's first round of cuts included Chuck Lofgren, Aaron Laffey, Brad Snyder, Javier Herrera, and Scott Lewis. Each of these did not meet expectations during exhibition play so it's back to the minors for more practice. I guess sometimes you have to major in minor league baseball.

Wow. That is a pretty bold statement considering Laffey, Lewis, and Lofgren were not there to compete for a roster spot on the Major League team. They were invited to Major League Spring Training purely for the experience and for the exposure. They were not sent back to minor league camp because of their game performance or because they didn't meet the "expectations" of the club. But since they were not competing for a roster spot, they were the first to go. Each of the listed prospects are thought highly of by the people that MATTER, or they wouldn't have been non-roster invitees (especially at such a young age 21 and 23). It is amazing how people can turn a positive into a negative so quickly.
I wonder if that was a bold statement or maybe a statement made by somebody who thinks they know how things work. It is obvious that they don't but everyone has an opinion. I have to agree with anonymous these young kids had the honor of being invited to spring training because the team might think they are some of the future.
